While attending Western Reserve University Law School, he worked at the firm in the afternoons (classes in the mornings). Graduated in 1955, then into active practice. Managing partner of the firm until retirement in 1996. Specialized in closely-held business law, small corporations, real estate, estate planning, probate and taxation.
Member of the American, Ohio State and Cleveland Bar (Trustee) associations. Other organizations include (Case) Western Reserve University Law Alumni Association (former President), Society of Benchers of the Law School (former Chairman), Salvation Army of Greater Cleveland Advisory Board (former Chairman), Ohio Motorists Association (A.A.A)(former Trustee), Rotary Club of Cleveland (former Trustee and Treasurer), Dartmouth College Alumni Association of Greater Cleveland (former President), and Bluecoats, Inc.
Developed the former estate of Robert and Constance Mather Bishop in Hunting Valley (225 acres into 25 acre parcels) in 1972, known as Arrowhead Farm.
Bill lives with his wife of 60 years, Joan, in Pepper Pike. They have three daughters and six grandchildren. His clubs are The Union (former Trustee), Country Club at Hillbrook (former President and Trustee), and, formerly, the Cleveland Skating Club (former President and Trustee). Travel, golf, tennis, fishing and ice skating were his favorite recreations (now it's bridge, photography and bird-watching). They belong to Fairmount Presbyterian Church (former Deacon and Trustee) and Bill's fraternities are Psi Upsilon (college) and Phi Delta Phi (law school). He is now 82 years young!
