Robert L. Metzger

Bob is a graduate of the University of Michigan (B.A. 1959) and its law school (LL.B. 1962). He joined the firm in 1962, becoming a partner in 1970. He has extensive experience representing individuals in estate and tax planning and probate and trust administration. He has also worked with privately held small businesses counseling on form of organization, advising on general business matters and succession planning. Bob also works closely with the firm's Client Care Manager in providing a variety of services to his clients as they transition from their homes to higher and more intensive levels of care. He is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Bob has been involved with the Salvation Army Harbor Light Complex for more than forty years. This Complex provides an extensive array of services to the less fortunate in our community, including both inpatient and outpatient detox for alcohol and drug addiction, women's and family's homeless shelters, men's residential services and a variety of corrections programs. He has served as a member of the Complex's Council for the entire time of his service there and has been President of the Council on several occasions. In 1999 he was awarded the William Booth Award of the Salvation Army for services rendered to others as exemplified by the Army's founder, William Booth. Bob was a long time member of Christ Episcopal Church in Shaker Heights where he served as a Vestry person (two terms), Clerk of the Vestry and Treasurer (two terms). In addition, he was co-Chairman of two capital campaigns and several annual fundraising campaigns. Bob was also active in the Shaker Heights/University Heights/Beach wood Meals on Wheels serving as Trustee of that organization with a term as President.

Bob and his wife, Fran, have lived in Shaker Heights for more than forty years where they raised their son and two daughters. Bob enjoys working in the yard and he and his wife enjoy attending concerts, particularly Apollo's Fire, the Baroque orchestra.
